Lerai Rakoditsoe becomes first African host to join Nickelodeon

History has been made. Nickelodeon Africa announced Lerai Rakoditsoe as the host of a new show called, ‘NickMusic’, making her the first African host to join the channel.

Congratulations to South African Social media influencer and presenter Lerai Rakoditsoe.

The 18-year-old has joined  Nickelodeon Africa as a presenter for a new music show called, ‘NickMusic'. 

Rakoditsoe made history by becoming the first African to join the channel. 

She took to Instagram to share the exciting news.

“I am excited to be part of the @nickelodeon_africa family and to be the first young African host for the channel,” she wrote on IG.

The actor and model shared how the channel helped shaped her mind as a young girl.

“Having grown up watching the channel myself, I know how important it is for a young mind to to see someone like themselves on screen,” she wrote.

The star shared how grateful she is to be joining the channel.

“Authentic representation is really important and to see *myself* on the channel is mind-blowing. I’m extremely grateful and looking forward to interacting with viewers across Africa,” she said.

The show starts on 17 May and will be broadcasted on @dstvza Channel 308.

It will be broadcasted all over Africa.
