Overnight reaction to the passing of the iconic Prince has seen the world united in reflecting on the life and times of The Purple One, who was once known as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince...before deflecting back to his given name, simply 'Prince'. 


Born on June 7th, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the US to a songwriter-pianist father and a vocalist mother, the eccentric Prince was also a deeply religious artist; one whose lyrics are often debated equally along sexual and religious lines. Quite the enigma.
