Your cute emojis could get you into a legal bind

Emojis have made communication quicker and more fun. But have they made us unable to communicate clearly?
These days, everyone uses text messages and emojis to communicate with their friends and family. Nothing adds flavour to a conversation quite like a well-placed smiley face or fist bump emoji, but could these fun yellow characters get you into serious legal trouble?
Emoji etiquette means knowing when you should or shouldn’t use emojis. When negotiating employment contracts or lease agreements, using these playful icons could distort the message you are trying to send.

According to legal advisor Johannes du Plessis, using any symbols that indicate positivity or agreement in messages could lead to the receiver believing that the contract in question has been accepted.
