Toddler's narrow escape is a reminder to keep your home child-safe
A young boy in Udon, Thailand was on the brink of severe injury when he was playing near a tall chest of drawers in his home.
Most injuries that land young children in the emergency room are furniture related: heavy doors can trap their small hands, table corners can cause bruises, and unsecured shelves can cause any number of injuries.
For a young boy in Udon, Thailand, it was curiosity about a chest of drawers that nearly led him to the hospital.

In the CCTV footage below, the young boy is seen opening and closing the drawers, apparently wanting to see what was inside each of them. When he opens the bottom drawer for the last time, the chest tips over, dropping several items on his head. Luckily, he escaped unharmed.
The boy, sensing that he is in danger as soon as the chest tips over, quickly scrambles away.
A few seconds later, his mother arrives to see what the commotion is all about.
He was not seriously injured, but anything could have happened in those split seconds.
This footage is a sobering reminder of all the things that could happen if a home is not kept child-safe.
