This 'simple' maths riddle has the internet stumped
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
This riddle about the sale of a horse has people of all ages scratching their heads.
The school work that children bring home these days can be confusing for many parents. The basic principles of English and Maths exercises may have remained the same, but the methods of teaching are very different. What should be a relatively easy problem becomes a pain for all members of the family.
This is most evident in the story sums that children are bringing to parents as maths homework. One such sum centres on the sale of a horse, and no one can agree on how much profit the seller made. The riddle was posted onto Mumsnet by Perrie Baker, who 'couldn't believe how many people on Facebook had it completely wrong'.
Look at the story below and see if you know how rich the horse seller is now:
In all the buying and selling, did the man make $10, $20, or $30? Or did he only break even?
