Security guards run off during armed hijacking
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
Security guards were no match for a gang of armed hijackers in Chartwell, Gauteng.
The work of security guards can be very hazardous, as it is their responsibility to face danger so that others can stay safe. Not everyone is suited for the job and, in extreme circumstances, even qualified security guards may find themselves unable to help.
These security guards on a street in Chartwell, northwest Johannesburg, found themselves incapable of stopping an armed hijacking while it was in progress.
A white sedan drives up to where two guards, dressed in dark clothes, are standing and some passengers enter the vehicle. The car begins to reverse then, spotting the target of the hijacking in the SUV behind them, stops to let two men out.

They approach the passengers of the SUV and an altercation ensues. Throughout this confrontation, the guards are nowhere to be seen.
There has been no news of where the guards went or why they left the hijacking victims to fend for themselves.
Could it be that they did not have the training required to deal with such a high pressure situation?
