SA musicians perform incredible flash mob at New Zealand airport

Now this is the type of feel-good news we love to hear!
Nelson Airport in New Zealand was treated to a special performance from the cast of Stimela 'The Gumboot' Musical.
The group was in New Zealand to perform their show that focuses on the story of a number of different men who travelled from all over Africa in search of a better future in the 'City of Gold', Johannesburg.
However, they have had some difficulties along the way. Director and choreographer, Thapelo Motloung, shared the fact that their event organiser had not applied for work visas in time, forcing them to cancel their shows in Dunedin, Invercargill, Oamaru, and the first night in Nelson. More so, Motloung even sold his house and car to fund the group and take it to the world stage.
Luckily, their story was heard by a former SA expat, Rory Langbridge, who came to their rescue. He came across their story after attending one of their shows in Nelson. Langbridge and his partner, Annie Leather, managed to help the group by rearranging their flights and securing them a few venues in Australia.
The group is now in Brisbane, Australia, with thanks to Annie Leather, who stepped in to book and arrange Stimela’s flights and venues.
