People are conflicted over this video of a cat rescuing a lost puppy
Updated | By Nkhensani Manabe
The cat followed its instincts and got the puppy to safety - but is that all there is to their story?
In many cases, animals out in the wild look out for one another.
That's the law of nature, after all.
It's heartwarming to see how animals interact with each other when they are left alone. There are many lessons about compassion and teamwork that humans can learn from watching animals.
The interaction between the cat and dog in this video is a great example:

Noticing that the puppy was in distress, the cat leaped down the hill to carry it back to safety. All was well.
But people who have seen this video, which was even set to instrumental music, are skeptical about the motives of the person who posted it.

Why would the person filming the video not step in to help the animals themselves? People are worried that the incident was only filmed for likes on social media:
Wow. A cat that's more ethical than the person with the phone

Nope. Human was just there to film it for the likes and the shares.

Really sweet video but why didn’t the person videoing the event just help the puppy ?

Glad I'm not the only one wondering why the idiot with the phone isn't rescuing the puppy. What is becoming of this world?

It seems this video is raising questions about whether social media is helping us or only making us more self-centered?
Should the person who filmed the video have taken responsibility for saving the puppy?
