Nursing home resident, 102, charged with aggravated assault
A 102-year-old man in Australia has been charged after assaulting a 92-year-old fellow nursing home resident.
A nursing home in Waverley, in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, Australia, was the scene of a rare crime early this week: a 102-year-old man assaulted one of his fellow nursing home residents, a 92-year-old woman, shortly after lunchtime. The cause of the man's behaviour is not yet known.
His actions were reported to police who soon arrived on the scene and took him into custody. He has since been granted bail pending a court appearance in late November.

The man was charged with aggravated indecent assault. If he is found guilty he could face up to seven years in prison.
In the past, centenarians have faced charges for crimes they committed when they were younger. Being charged with a current crime over the age of 100, however, is rare.
