Mouse puts on a great show for a cat, wins the day
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
This mouse's spirit of self-preservation is just the kind of motivation you need in your life.
You don't know just how strong you are until you are in a dangerous situation. At that moment, survival instincts that you did not know you had kick in and you do whatever it takes to make it out safely.
This determination to survive is as alive in animals as it is in human beings.
The mouse, immediately sensing danger, lies perfectly still and pretends to be dead. The cat stops in its tracks, no longer attracted to hunting the mouse because it is already dead.
Where did the mouse learn to play dead? It is quite possible that the mouse was taught this handy trick by its owner, who wanted to prepare the pet for life or death situations such as this one.
And this is a clever mouse, indeed: several times, it lifts its head to check if the cat has gone away, clearly wanting to make sure it is okay to get up.

The man filming the video says: "I've got to start working out", commenting on the mouse's remarkable torso strength.
This strategic action toward a desired outcome shows great intelligence in the small animal - and should motivate all of us to pursue all our goals with the same kind of focus.
Who said rodents can't teach people anything about life?
