Mom feeds one-year-old 'brain cake'
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
Melbourne mom Liz felt her son's first birthday was the perfect opportunity for a Halloween-themed treat.
When Melbourne resident Liz gave birth to her son Alexander on Halloween last year, she started making plans to make all his future birthday celebrations memorable.
While browsing Pinterest, Liz came across the "cake smash" party idea and decided it was the perfect way to announce her son's upcoming first birthday party. Due to the date of her son's birth, Liz thought it would be perfect to make a cake that resembled a human brain.
Liz gave the cake (made of a regular sponge, cream cheese, and fresh raspberries) to her son and let him have a go at it. The pictures she took of Alexander devouring the "brain" will be used as party invitations.

Liz received favourable responses when she posted the pictures of Alexander on Facebook. Many praised her creativity and commented about her fun sense of humour.
Young Alexander may not remember everything about his first birthday, but with pictures like these circulating, his name will be on the tongues of all his schoolmates for years to come.
