Man taunts elephants in Copenhagen Zoo
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
An unidentified man wandered
into the elephant enclosure at Copenhagen Zoo for a misguided stand-off with
the pachyderms.
Visiting the zoo is not a lot of fun for anyone who is easily bored. All the walking around and looking at animals who can’t do much more than stare back at you is not very entertaining, which is probably why some people try to create some action by jumping into the enclosures and provoking the animals.
The latest such incident happened at the Copenhagen Zoo, where an unidentified man was found sitting on a rock inside the elephant enclosure.
The man perches on a rock and brazenly looks at three elephants when they walk towards him waving their trunks and making aggressive noises, clearly wanting to chase the man away. The two adult elephants are protecting the calf between them.
The man, apparently realising that he is no match for the aggressive pachyderms, gets up and walks to the exit, with the elephants behind him all the way.
The man’s motives for planting himself inside the enclosure are unknown.
