Japanese granny, 90, totally wins Instagram
Ninety-year-old Kimiko Nishimoto loves staging herself in daredevil photos. Kimiko recently held an exhibition of some of her most popular Instagram photos to a full house.
Japan's Kimiko Nishimoto is a fun-loving pensioner with a penchant for quirky photography. Kimiko took up photography as a hobby at the age of 72, and has been mad about taking daring self-portraits ever since.
Some of the poses look very dangerous for someone of 90 years, but Kimiko says she is not deterred by the risks: "I'm always focusing hard on taking a fun photo so I really don't think about the danger too much."
The daring snaps have won Kimiko over 40,000 followers on Instagram. So many of her fans showed up to her recent gallery exhibition that some had to be turned away. Kimiko was surprised at the great enthusiasm from her followers.

So what keeps Kimiko going? Well, it's clear that she will carry on with the portraits as long as the process of making them is challenging and fun for her: "It's not so much that I'm trying to shock people, I just take photos that I find funny. It's just a bit of fun really."
