If you have ever tried to explain a sport to someone who had no frame of reference for it at all, these Dutch sketch comedians have got just the thing for you.
How do you begin to explain the rules of a game to someone who has never seen it played before?
When the sport in question is one that is not globally recognised, teaching it to someone is even more difficult. Cricket is one such sport, with many people believing that it is just an eccentric British pastime.

Dutch sketch comedy troupe Jiskefet decided to make a story out of their confusion about cricket. In the video below, which comes complete with commentary and a referee in black shorts, the troupe pokes fun at how incoherent the game of cricket is to anyone who did not grow up in a cricketing country.
The three men are certainly wearing the right clothes for the gig, and they do show enthusiasm as they run up and down the pitch.
