Girl, 5, becomes youngest spelling bee champion
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Kids who are five years old can hardly spell, but not Edith Fuller from Oklahoma,USA.
She is the youngest spelling Bee Champion. How incredible is that?!
Edith took part in the 2017 Scripps Green Country Regional Spelling Bee in Tulsa, Oklahoma over the weekend and wowed judges when she spelled all the words correctly.
This included words such as Panglossian, Baedeker, pernicious, zephyr and sarsaparilla, and jnana, which is pronounced “juh-nah-nuh”.
She reportedly beat over 50 other kids.
The five-year-old says she is a great speller because she always looked up words she got wrong during her home-schooling sessions with her mom.
“Mommy asks me a word, and every time I misspell one, I will look at it," she told KJRH.
