Garth Taylor opens up to Barney Simon about growing up in an abusive home
You may think celebrities live the glamorous lifestyle but often you don't know the stories behind the artist.
Garth Taylor is considered a pioneer of the South African music industry, a SAMA nominated artist and is most renowned for being a chart topping singer-songwriter and recording artist. He was personally handpicked by Sir Richard Branson to entertain at his sons wedding in 2013.
However the fame and the fortune came with a lot of hard work and dedication. Taylor also didn't have the easiest up bringing. As a youngster, his mother's partner abused him and the other members of his family.

He moved around children's homes and was eventually allowed to return to his mother's care.
