Crocodile blocks hospital entrance, charges at citizens in Zimbabwe
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
Residents of Hwange in Zimbabwe were horrified to find a large crocodile blocking the entrance to a public hospital earlier this week.
People in the town of Hwange, Zimbabwe have had to contend with more crocodiles recently due to heavy rainfall in the area.
Tinashe Farawo, spokesperson for the wildlife authority in the area, says that crocodile attacks have been on the rise: 'Because of the rains we have been receiving, we have had several reports of people attacked by crocodiles.'
A large crocodile was reportedly camping outside St Patrick's hospital for two hours on Tuesday. The body of water nearest to the hospital is 10 kilometres away, according to a local newspaper, making it unclear how the reptile arrived in the suburban area.

After several calls from residents, wildlife authorities arrived at the hospital to find the crocodile charging at onlookers, causing havoc.
Authorities shot the crocodile to neutralise the threat, saying: 'we had to put it down because it had become a threat to human life.'
Observers have mixed reactions to the news:
The crocodile in Zimbabwe. Why shoot it dead rather than sedate it. We have to take responsibility for the natural world.
