Corgis conquer the track in Southern California race
The recent SoCal Corgi National Championship was a chance for corgis and their owners to show that it is truly not about the size of the dog in the race.
At first glance, a corgi wouldn't strike you as the type of dog to do very well in a race. They are fluffy and adorable, yes - but they also have short legs. That puts them at a slight disadvantage in any competition based on speed.
But you know what they say: anything is possible when you put your mind to it.
Or, in the case of the dog owners who signed their pets up for the SoCal Corgi National Championship, anything is possible if your human wants it badly enough.

On 27 May, dog owners in Arcadia, Los Angeles took to the Santa Anita racetrack (usually reserved for horseracing) and set their corgis up for the race of the season.
Seeing the tiny canines scampering towards the finish line, determined to make their owners proud, is just too adorable.
Roi and his owner Ricky Garcia took home the first prize, proving that when you put your heart into winning it doesn't matter how short your legs are.
