Buzz Aldrin caught up in dramatic court fight with his children
Buzz Aldrin, the widely celebrated member of the Apollo 11 mission and the second man to walk on the moon, is embroiled in a court battle with his children, who want to take control of his finances.
Buzz Aldrin, a former astronaut celebrated as the second man to walk on the moon, is in the middle of a heartbreaking court battle involving two of his children and his business manager, according to Gizmodo.
The 88-year-old pioneer of space travel has been trying to get back control of his "finances, business affairs and legacy". This comes after his children Andrew and Janice, as well as his business manager Christina Korp, requested the state of Florida to declare Aldrin incompetent.
Andrew, Janice, and Christina claim that Aldrin's mental health is deteriorating, but he maintains that he is capable enough to handle his own affairs.
Aldrin is fighting back, and suing his children and the business manager on the grounds that they are "engaging in elder exploitation by co-opting his legacy and making a grab at his money and property".
The two main assets in question in the lawsuits are Buzz Aldrin Enterprises and the ShareSpace Foundation. Aldrin says the root of the feud is a 2016 family trip that ended in Aldrin being admitted to hospital. Since then, his family has limited his activities and tried to create the impression that Aldrin is incapable of taking care of himself.

Aldrin told ABC News that the feud was "the saddest thing that has ever happened" in his family, but maintained that he will do everything he can to patch things up.
