But for this woman, Bessie Hendricks, once the oldest person in the USA, living a long and happy life comes with a secret.
"Ms Hendricks, who was born on 7 November 1907, died on Tuesday in a nursing home in Iowa." (Instagram)
She was known for her positive attitude, and we would like to believe that had something to do with the lengthy life she lived.
Her secret to success besides avoiding stress, was also staying away from doctors, was sweets.
"When she turned 110, Hendricks told the Fort Dodge Messenger that the secret to a long, successful life is “hard work.” But her son divulged that she also “[loved] her sweets.” (Instagram)
She lost her husband just a month before they could celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary, in 1995.
