Sometimes all our kids want from us is patience and to allow them to practice their independence...
Teaching our kids independence isn't something that we always have control over, but as parents, we know all too well that our kids demand their independence.
And are always looking for new ways to exert their control over situations.
Whether that comes in the form of choosing their clothing, brushing their teeth or in this case asking for the bill after dinner at a restaurant.

This young man was eager to exert his independence when he tried and tried to ask for the bill at a restaurant with his family.
We really admire his perseverance, so often our kids get into the culture of using the word "can't", but not this little man.
He was determined and we're guessing that mom and dad's patience was exactly what he needed.
