Single parent: How does the law support me?
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Legal advice is costly, but this week we are giving you free legal help. Family Law Advocate Jade Lawson joins Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp to discuss the legal implications of being a single parent, with kids.
Who pays? How does guardianship work? What if you have kids out of wedlock? What is the father's role? What should child support & maintenance be?
Jade Lawson is both an Advocate and Mediator, with one of her areas of focus being on family law. In addition to her litigation work, Adv Lawson is accredited through the Social Justice Association of Mediators and works closely with them to mediate on cases such as parenting plans, divorce settlements, care and contact of minor children, and maintenance disputes.
It is important to understand your rights, be informed, and ensure you are covered!
