Narcissists we love: Partners, parents and the pain
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
"Narcissism at home is often modelled by the parent."

Our kids pick up on our emotional responses and interactions with other people, which, in turn, shape our children's mental health and personality traits.
But how serious a problem is narcissism? And is Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) the same thing?
Our expert guest this week is psychiatrist Dr. Gagu Matsebula. With his many years of experience in mental health treatment, he explains how the spectrum of narcissism works.

About Dr Gagu Matsebula
Dr GS Matsebula is a psychiatrist in private practice at Akeso Randburg who has a passion for mental health promotion.
He is the director of Mental Health Med, Inc - which runs mental health awareness campaigns and provides practical tools for managing stress, anxiety, and burnout to corporates.
His fields of interest are trauma informed care, depression, anxiety, workplace mental health, and the intersection between culture and mental health.
He believes in the power of education and story telling to break down stigma, foster understanding, and inspiring action towards better mental health for all.
