Don't always assume that your kid is not being serious with their threats...
This story is a great example of sheer determination - and also a good lesson to never take what your kids say for granted.
Arguments are part of the package when you're a parent. Whether you're arguing with your teenager or your two-year-old, arguments are bound to happen.
But this argument between a mother and her 11-year-old took a turn for the worse.
"After getting into an argument with his mother, an 11-year-old boy from Hangzhou, China’s Zhejiang Province, got on his bike determined to reach his grandmother’s house." (Oddity Central)
And guess what? He did it. Well, almost did it. He managed to pedal 130km, and he was just shy of an hour away from grandma's house.
Apparently he had told his mother he was going to do this during their argument, but she brushed it off as a childish tantrum.
The young boy navigated through complicated roads by following road signs. Even though he lost his way a number of times, he managed to stay on track.
"During his arduous challenge, he survived only on bread and water he picked up before leaving home." (Oddity Central)
The question we're pondering is... where did mom think he was during the 22 hours that he was not at home?
MORE FROM JACARANDA FM
The boy was reportedly so exhausted that he was unable to walk when the police caught up with him.
He had to be carried to the police station, which is where his mother and grandmother came to collect him.
A firm reason to pay attention to what your kids say during disagreements, because believe it or not, anger can drive you to do some outlandish things.
