Cape Town winds blow cyclists off course
Updated | By Laila Majiet
Cape Town's famous southeaster, also known as the
Cape Doctor, is gusting through the streets of the Mother City.
Videos have emerged of people struggling to stay on their feet as the harsh winds hit.
The Cape Town Cycle Tour has been cancelled due to the extreme weather conditions.
Professional cyclists weren't the only ones disappointed about the race being cancelled.
Suidooster actor Marco Spaumer, Tim du Plooy, was bummed at hearing the race would be cancelled.
He had been looking forward to attempting his first cycle tour along with a group of kykNET actors and presenters, including Buks van Heerden, Carolien van der Sandt, Johnny Davids, Waldimar Pelser, Victor Matfield, Je-ani Swiegelaar, Cindy Swanepoel, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Janina Oberholzer, Breyton Paulse and Sean van Noordwyk.
