Mzansi shocked by US blogger's grocery shopping video
An American woman visiting South Africa shared a video of her trip to a local grocery store. She boasted about how cost-effective her shopping was and this did not sit well with people from SA.
The cost of groceries has become anything but a pleasant or welcomed topic these days. Mostly because it is so costly.
We can therefore understand why people flock to the supermarket to take advantage of specials and promotions. It also comes as no surprise that everyone is waiting around trying to win their share in East Coast Radio's Every Caller Wins.
The topic around how much an average shopping trip costs is even more sensitive, if not triggering, because unemployment has become a harsh reality for many South Africans.
It is the very reason that many South Africans were affected by an American woman's video recently.
In the video, the woman, who goes by Hannah Stella on Instagram, shared all the groceries she bought from a grocery store in South Africa.
The grocery store happened to be a Woolworths and as you know, not everyone can comfortably shop there. In the video, the blogger rants and raves about the number of items she was able to get for $170.
