Drinking 2l of water in less than 20min proved fatal for US woman

Apparently, you can drink too much water...
We have notoriously been told that we should be drinking at least eight glasses of water a day.
And that water is good for us.
No arguments there, but when you hear about this story, it may make you feel a bit uneasy about drinking a lot of water in a short space of time.
"A 35-year-old American woman tragically lost her life while vacationing with her family after drinking two liters of water in a very short time and suffering severe brain inflammation." (Oddity Central)
Whilst it is important to stay hydrated, it seems that there is some fine print surrounding how much water you can consume in a space of time.
Ashley Summers was vacationing with family during the Fourth of July weekend and started feeling dehydrated.
This led to her drinking a fair amount of water (64 ounces/around 2 litres) in a short period.
She did not experience any symptoms immediately after drinking the water, but she later collapsed in her garage and never regained consciousness.
"Doctors told her shocked family that Summers had suffered severe brain inflammation after drinking too much water in a very short period of time." (Oddity Central)
