Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
As the World Cup tournament draws closer to the semi-final stage, it carries the hearts and spirits of avid soccer fans with it. And their pets are into the beautiful game, too.

The 2018 World Cup in Russia has given football enthusiasts all over the globe many golden moments. The stakes are high and the players have risen to meet the challenge.
And while human fans have shown their appreciation for the game in a myriad of ways, it is worth mentioning that family pets are also joining in on the action.
This Colombian fan's cat cheered almost as loudly as its owner when the team scored a goal.
The cat seems a little bit confused at first but soon realises that this is a moment of celebration.
It refuses to be left out, even jumping on the couch to show its enthusiasm.
Who knew that cats were such big soccer fans?
