Is this the worst art ever?
Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
A
museum in New England has dedicated itself to showing all the art that is “too
bad to be ignored”. Is this a case of something being so bad that it is
actually good?
Art
is subjective, right?
The value of drawings and paintings is, in many cases, in
the eye of the beholder. Or is it?
No
one wants to be responsible for dashing a budding artist’s dreams, but we can
agree that in some cases the art people produce is just terrible.
In fact, it
can be argued that many people who were praised for their art and became famous
for it were actually not very good at all. And no one wants to risk humiliation
by displaying bad art.

No
one, that is, apart from the curators of the Museum of Bad Art (MOBA) in New
England.
Here, all kinds of horrible creations are given pride of place on the
walls. Patrons are encouraged to browse the collection and marvel at just how bad the art is.
There is certainly something quite charming about owning a
terrible artwork, which explains why MOBA has lost some of its pieces to theft
over the years.
You might be too embarrassed to pay for the art, and yet still
have the burning desire to own it.
