Woman trapped in loveless marriage as courts deny multiple divorce attempts

Tini Owens has been trying to leave her decades-long marriage since 2015. The highest courts in England have refused to grant her a divorce, leaving Tini trapped in an unhappy union.
Tini Owens is a woman at the end of her tether.
In the latest blow in a divorce battle that has gone on since 2015, the London resident was denied a legal separation from her businessman husband because the judge did not recognise Tini's claims of ill-treatment in the marriage. Judge Tolson said that Tini's claims about her husband, Hugh Owens, were "to be expected".
"Judge Tolson had refused to grant a divorce petition after analysing the case at a family court hearing in London. He said Mrs Owens’ allegations were “of the kind to be expected in marriage”.

If Judge Tolson is married, my thoughts&prayers are with his very unfortunate wife. https://t.co/7kwaYnftOm
Tini and Hugh, who have been married since 1978 and have amassed a sizeable fortune in business together, have reportedly been sleeping in separate rooms for several years. Tini told the court that Hugh had spoken harshly to her in public, causing embarrassment. Judge Tolson ruled that Tini was "over-sensitive".
An outside view of the divorce battle raises several questions, one being whether Hugh is contesting the divorce purely out of spite. This would be plausible, as evidence of Tini's year-long affair in 2012 had been presented to the court. However, Hugh claims that he has forgiven Tini and has moved on; he says he and his wife still have "a few good years" to spend together.

The Judge also said Tini's claims that she is unloved and isolated in the marriage are unfounded. The Judge further stated that none of the evidence presented proved that the marriage had irretrievably broken down.
Tini will now take her case to the Supreme Court, where it is hoped that she will be granted an "on-demand" divorce on the grounds of her husband's behaviour, without the prerequisite obligation to prove fault.
At this point, it seems it would be more worthwhile for Tini to just move to a different city to get away from the marriage.
