Dramatic footage on social media shows how two men tried to kidnap a schoolgirl in broad daylight.
According to the Salvation Army, it has fielded a dozen calls every week recently. Some 80% of these relate to human trafficking.
“We appeal to people to be much more vigilant about human trafficking. It is real and it is happening in our society to people of all ages."

Video footage of young children being grabbed by strangers feeds into these concerns. Social media has been flooded by alleged kidnapping incidents in South Africa.
According to the Institute for Security Studies, crime statistics released by the South African Police Service (SAPS) state that kidnapping figures are increasing year by year.
The figures highlight a substantial 133% increase in cases reported to the police since 2010/2011 – up from 2 839 that year to 6 632 in 2019/20.

Another dramatic video has been recently shared on Facebook showing an attempted kidnapping.
A schoolgirl was walking, while two men tried to kidnap her. The men tried to get the girl in the car and failed.
Workers in the area realised that the men tried to kidnap the girl, and rushed towards to perpetrators' getaway car.
