Is this the ugliest studio apartment ever built?
Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
There are many questions to answer after a picture of a studio apartment in St Louis, Missouri with a weirdly impractical design emerged online.
Finding a decent studio apartment can be gruelling work. If it isn't the lack of light or airconditioning, it's the too-short distance between the lounge and the bedroom that makes the space inconvenient for daily living. Those who don't want to sit up in bed and immediately be at the front door are better off waiting until they can afford a bigger place.
Or, they could see the limited space and boxy design of a studio apartment as an opportunity to embrace multitasking and find new ways to use different rooms. That is a tricky thing to do with a normal apartment, but for anyone looking to rent this crazy St Louis, Missouri unit that has a bathtub inside the kitchen, the challenge is even greater.

The unit was advertised and, miraculously, was recently rented out to a tenant who is ecstatic about the find. Though the bathroom might be combined with the kitchen in an uncomfortable way, the apartment itself is situated in the Central West End, a highly desirable neighbourhood.

The design is questionable not least because of the dangerous combination of electrical wiring in the kitchen with plumbing. The hazards lurk around every corner, but the design has previously been cleared as legal and has passed city inspection. Naturally, jokes about how "convenient" the apartment's layout is have made the rounds.
