Ten-year-old becomes a farmer with his chickens

Armand van der Merwe is a young farmer and entrepreneur at the age of 10.
Armand van der Merwe from Rooihuuskraal in Centurion bought chickens with his R2,000 pocket money and decided to start his own business.
Every day his chickens lay eight eggs, which he then sells.
His father, Gerhard, built a cage for his chickens which he takes care of.

The only expense Armand has is the food for the chickens that costs about R220 per month.
His parents and grandmother help him to manage his own business and little farm.
His grandmother also sells eggs in Boksburg for him. His whole family buys eggs from him.

Armand visited the Jacaranda FM studio to talk about his little farm and being a very successful entrepreneur.
"At the moment I have ten chickens. They don't have names."
"I learned myself to farm and I did not Google anything."
"I must get a bigger cage, I'm getting ten extra chickens."
