SDD finalist Werner almost didn't survive his 'debt collecting' task
Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
We sent Werner to Van der Stel in Pretoria to try and squeeze some money out of some tough guys.
Our second Scenic Drive Driver finalist, Werner, had the daunting task of collecting thousands of Rands in debt from some bikers at Van der Stel. He dressed up in a nice suit but that didn't hide the fear in his voice.
Before he went in, he said: "Wish me luck. I've never been so nervous in my life".
This is how he fared.
The crew at Van der Stel was not at all interested in Werner's claims of being a debt collector, demanding to see his business card and proceeding to harass him when he couldn't produce one.
But that was not the end of the task: he also had to approach a burly man in an Isuzu bakkie and ask him for a hefty payment. A policeman stepped in when the altercation got physical.
Werner survived, but one question remains: does he regret ever applying to become the Scenic Drive Driver?
