Danielle (24) from Pretoria spoke to The Scenic Drive about her experience with COVID-19. She was diagnosed on 4 June and has since started using an oxygen machine to help her heart and lungs.
By 11 June, the COVID-19 pandemic has claimed the lives of 1,210 people in South Africa.
According to Jacaranda FM News, thankfully, there have been a great number of recoveries in the county. "The recoveries to date are 31 505 - this translates to a recovery rate of 56,8%," said Minister of Health, Zweli Mkhize.
During the week, Rian van Heerden and the team asked listeners if they have COVID-19 or know of someone who was tested positive.

The Scenic Drive team believes that COVID-19 is not something someone should have to keep a secret. The team wants to destigmatise the virus.
The Scenic Drive chatted to a listener who are currently in isolation with COVID-19.
Danielle (24)
Danielle, who is a Bcom Law student, from Pretoria said that she was diagnosed with Covid-19 on the 4th of June. "Before the test, I was a bit sick. After the test, it became a bit worse."
She obeyed all the lockdown rules - and only ordered food online. She has no underlying illnesses and she is also not a smoker.
After she tested positive, she showed symptoms of shortness of breath. "I can't lie down for too long because my lungs hurt."
Danielle is on an oxygen machine at home to support her heart and lungs.
"I drink 15 pills a day. It is vitamins, pain medication and some other medication."
The Health Department (Tshwane) checks in with her every second day - sometimes daily. They even phone her mom.
"I got it worse - but that doesn't mean you will have it the same. People mustn't panic."
The Scenic Drive also spoke to Annelle from Centurion - and at the beginning she showed no symptoms and no signs of fewer.
Annelle (31)
Annelle tested positive for Covid-19 on the 23rd of May.
Due to the economic repercussions of the national lockdown, Annelle lost her job and started showing symptoms of anxiety. Her doctor tested her fever - and then tested she positive for Covid-19.
"I didn't even know I had a fever. After I was tested positive, I showed no signs of symptoms of the virus. Only later I started to show some symptoms. I received no medication."
On the 9th of June, Annelle tested negative for Covid-19.
