After completing grade 12, Sam Moima was determined to find a job to make a success out of his life.

But due to financial reasons, Moima struggled to get a decent job and became a cement mixer at a construction site near Tembisa.

After giving it his all as a waiter, he received a promotion to sushi chef, after he was left fascinated by the previous sushi chef's work.

After working as a sushi chef for almost a decade, he applied for a job as a sushi trainer in 2013 and was successful.
