The popular Afrikaans entertainer has teamed up with Bok van Blerk to release 'Die Sluise van die Hemel', an emotional song inspired by the water crisis in Cape Town.
Robbie Wessels, multi-faceted musician, songwriter, actor, funnyman and film producer, has teamed up with Bok van Blerk to produce the heartfelt 'Die Sluise van die Hemel'.
The song is about the current difficulty the Western Cape is having with regard to water. Its lyrics, penned by Robbie, talk about the pain of the situation while also promising that relief will come soon. 'Die Sluise van die Hemel' encourages people to rely on the Lord for help during this trying time.
Robbie says writing the song was easy, as he felt the lyrics were 'sent to him from above'. He went on to say that it was important to write the song because he loves Cape Town, and wants to let people know he is supporting them even if he cannot be there in person. Robbie believes this song will move all South Africans.
People may not believe Robbie when he says so, but there is a serious side to the musician. He elaborated on this aspect of his music:
Robbie may have been in the public eye for the past 16 years, but there are still a few things that you cannot find out about him on the internet. Rian got some of this secret information out of Robbie:
