Rian adds the finishing touch to a revue for Make My Monday

Rian adds the finishing touch to a revue for Make My Monday

The junior primary pupils from Laerskool Hermanstad got the opportunity to travel around town in the Jacaranda FM bus courtesy of ProTours.

Primary school teacher and listener of The Scenic Drive with Rian Cherisse sent through the following Make My Monday request:

Good day Jacaranda,

I'd rather send this email today than on Monday (Make my Monday) because we need transportation for the Laerskool Hermanstad Junior Revue.

They passed the necessary auditions and now the hard work starts on July 23. Make-up and hair have to be done - and not forgetting that homework needs to be done.

Their schedule looks as follows:

Garsfontein Primary School 23 July 17:30

Theresa Park Primary School 15 August 14:00

State Theater 11 September 17:30

Laerskool Hermanstad 17 - 20 September

National Eisteddfod still has to be confirmed

Most of the parents work, and those who can help with hair and make-up don't have transport either. It's a big group of children and it will be amazing if the school can get a sponsor for a bus to ensure that the children arrive at their destination.

The costumes and the dancing routines are stunning - the kids, though they may only be in Grades 1 to 3 - work hard in the evenings and on weekends.

Many thanks and it will be greatly appreciated by each parent.

Rian reached out to Wouter Briel of ProTours Coach Charter, who supplied Cherisse and the 36 junior primary pupils participating in the revue with a bus to take them everywhere they need to be.

The children can take Rian with them all through the competition, as he smiles out at them from the side of the bus.
