Media mogul Oprah Winfrey admitted that the revelations made by Harry and Meghan during their interview came as a shock to her.

"Whenever I'm doing interviews with anybody for anything that is significant, I have a conversation with them before. I didn't see Harry and Meghan before but I did text them and say the intention is very important to me, tell me what your intention is so that we can be aligned in our goal. And our shared intention was the truth," Oprah Winfrey admitted.

In March, Prince Harry and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a tell-all interview about racism within the royal family, their son Archie not receiving a royal title, struggling with mental health, Prince Charles cutting ties with Harry, and using the money his mother, Princess Diana, left him.

During the interview, the royal couple made shocking claims after Winfrey revealed that nothing is off-limits.

The biggest shock was made by Markle when she revealed that “concerns and conversations about how dark his (Archie's) skin might be when he’s born” were brought up to her husband ahead of her son’s birth. Winfrey’s shocked reaction: "What?"

“You’re not going to tell me who had that conversation?" Winfrey asked Meghan.

“I think that would be very damaging to them,” Markle continued.

The interview had a massive impact on the royal family and is one of the most watched interviews ever.

Winfrey admitted that she had no idea that her interview with the couple "would have the reverberating impact it has had and continues to have."

Speaking at the launch of Nancy O'Dell's Channel, Winfrey said: "I was shocked when Meghan said that royal family members had conversations with Harry about how dark Archie's skin might be when he's born."

Winfrey also revealed why the interview was so powerful.

"The reason why it was such a powerful interview - first of all, I know how to ask questions, but what makes it powerful is when you have someone else who is willing to be as open, as vulnerable, as truthful, as they were. I don't give myself credit for that, I give myself credit for asking the questions but the reason the interview was what it was, was because they answered the way they did."
