Prosperity gospel televangelist tells congregation: 'God wants me to have a private jet'
Prosperity gospel televangelist Jesse Duplantis believes that God wants him to have a new $54-million private jet so he can "preach all over the world".

That is the question that televangelist Jesse Duplantis asks in his video pitch for a new $54-million private jet, the fourth one that he would own in his lifetime.
The preacher told his congregation that he needed the new jet in order to "travel all over the world in one stop" while he spreads the word of God.
Those who have heard Duplantis' claims are wary of his motives.
Duplantis told his congregation that God told him to "believe in him for a Falcon 7X". This means he will not be paying for it himself - he is relying on the congregation's generosity to lift him up to the heavens.

Duplantis is one of many popular prosperity gospel televangelists who take to the small screen to ask their congregations for outrageous amounts of money that go far beyond regular tithing.

People from other churches have condemned prosperity gospel as "biblical heresy".
In January 2018, Kenneth Copeland used similar fundraising methods to pay for his Gulfstream V jet.
