Outrage over Meghan Markle dying like Princess Diana in new movie

The Lifetime movie, 'Harry & Meghan: Escaping The Palace' received major backlash after showing Meghan Markle dying in a car crash surrounded by paparazzi in a scene reminiscent of the death of her mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

The new movie trailer documenting Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle's choice to leave the royal family has been released. 

In May, the network, Lifetime, revealed that Jordan Dean and Sydney Morton would star as Harry and Meghan, respectively, in 'Harry and Meghan: Escaping The Palace'.

'Harry & Meghan: Escaping The Palace' will explore the real details behind the decision that eventually drove Harry and Meghan to leave their royal life behind.

In March, Harry and Meghan sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a tell-all interview about racism within the royal family, their son Archie not receiving a royal title, struggling with mental health, Prince Charles cutting ties with Harry, and using the money his mother, Princess Diana, left him.

The biggest shock was made by Markle when she revealed that “concerns and conversations about how dark his (Archie's) skin might be when he’s born” were brought up to her husband ahead of her son’s birth.

All of this will be part of the upcoming film. 

However, the openings scenes of the trailer have left millions around the world angry and disgusted.

In the upcoming film, Markle is seen dying under a crashed car surrounded by paparazzi in a scene reminiscent of the death of her mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

Princess Diana died after a car crash in Paris in 1997 while being chased by the paparazzi.

"Meghan Markle 'lies dying' after a car crash at the start of new TV film. Seriously like? What about the dignity towards Princess Diana? A little insensitive don't you think? Allow Princess Diana to Rest In Peace," a Twitter user wrote

'Harry & Meghan: Escaping The Palace' is the third instalment in Lifetime's royal movie franchise, following 2018's 'Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance' and 2019's 'Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal'.
