Musician Tresor and listeners share their experience of the coldest week

The South African Weather Service says another cold front is expected to hit Gauteng from Tuesday.

The latest in a series of cold fronts have forced South Africans to unpack their beanies and scarves this month.

Gauteng experienced bitterly cold weather on Thursday and Friday morning, with some streets in Hillbrow covered in ice.

On Monday, Jacaranda FM News reported that the province should brace itself for another cold front.

“Following last week’s cold front, this week will be much better. The temperatures are starting to pick up over most parts of the country, though there is still another cold front expected on Tuesday. It might make landfall on Wednesday."

Over the last couple of days, South Africans have shared photos on social media of heavy rainfall and snow. 

Musician Tresor also shared photos of his garden on Thursday morning.

"Johannesburg is literally ice cold this morning. My gardener just sent me these pictures and now I am not sure if I wanna leave my bed and go to the gym this morning anymore," he wrote on Facebook.
