Mother lands at airport to bizarre "welcome home" sign

A mother from Oklahoma was surprised to see the risky sign that her four-year-old son was holding up for her when she arrived at the airport.

Coming home to your family is the light at the end of a long business trip. Whether you are driving in or landing at an airport, seeing your people waiting for you at home is one of the best feelings.

For Oklahoma mom Barbara Nielsen, coming home was also a chance to get reacquainted with her husband's quirky sense of humour.

Barbara's husband Brandon decided the best way to make his wife feel loved was to make a giant "welcome home"sign. At the last moment, Brandon added a few words that changed the message entirely.

Barbara reported being shocked when she first saw the sign in her four-year-old son Damien's hands. It said "welcome home from prison, mom".

Barbara soon realised that it was a joke by her husband: "I just looked at my husband with a big grin and rolled my eyes at him. My son then dropped the sign and gave me a big hug and kiss. I later learned it was a last-minute idea. He searched online to find some funny signs and decided to go with the ‘welcome home from prison mom.’"

The picture of Damien holding the sign has made a splash on social media, with many people saying that this prank is something they can't wait to try with their own family members.
