Men still earn more than women in SA - with one province with no pay gap
In the country's biggest cities, more men are employed than women.

Inequality has been a big problem in South Africa - not only between races - but also between men and women.

Data published by the National Treasury states that men earn more than women in 7 out of 8 South African metros.
In the biggest cities, more men are employed than women, except in the City of Cape Town.

In Ekurhuleni, men earned R1,300 more than women in 2013, but this had increased to R3,000 by 2018.
The data stated that in Johannesburg and Cape Town, the pay gap is not necessarily increasing, but it has been consistent over the years.
Mangaung in the Free State is the only city with no pay gap.
