Medical experts: Everything you need to know about vaccines

Medical experts joined the Scenic Drive to talk about vaccines, COVID-19, and conspiracy theories.
Early in 2020, the world came to a standstill after a worldwide pandemic was announced by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

After more than a year, the world is still battling with the COVID-19 virus.
After vaccines were produced and made available for all - governments and health experts are battling with misinformation and hesitancy amid heightened fears of vaccine side effects.

Despite having enough vaccines, health experts are hearing more false information about the vaccines. People are jumping to false and dangerous conclusions that the side effects.

Earlier this week, Sheri Fanaroff from the Gauteng General Practitioners’ Collaboration (GGPC), said that "the risk of being infected with COVID-19 is far greater than the risk of getting vaccinated. There may be mild side effects, such as a low-grade fever and headache, body aches and pains, and redness or soreness at the site of injection. However, these should subside within a few days, and are a sign the body is building protection against the virus.”

On Tuesday evening, South Africa crossed the 11-million mark of people who have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination.
Medical experts Dr Emmanuel Taban, a physician, and Dr Susan Annandale joined the Scenic Drive to talk about the safety of vaccines. They also answered all the questions by listeners.
