Masters graduate hits back at people calling her degree "useless"

University students who pursue degrees in the Humanities are familiar with comments about their "bleak futures".

People studying in the science or engineering faculties make jokes about how people doing "soft" degrees have no career prospects and are ultimately less desirable as life partners. 

The logic is, who will want to marry someone with a dead end career that has no potential to make any real money?

The popular disparaging epithet, "a degree won't keep you warm at night" is used to put Humanities students in their place.

Nevertheless, these students stay determined and achieve the highest qualifications, like North Carolina's Kynnith Francis did.

Kynnith's mom, being aware of the harassment her daughter endured while pursuing her Masters in Education, took matters into her own hands. She had Kynnith's degree enlarged and printed onto a blanket, which she then gave to her daughter upon hearing that she had been hired at her first job after graduating. 

Now Kynnith's degree will quite literally keep her warm at night. Kynnith took to Twitter to brag about her gift.
