Marion Fernandes served thousands of passengers in the skies for nearly 50 years. She joined Rian and the Scenic Drive team to share her incredible journey.
Marion Fernandes (67), has worked on airplanes for nearly 50 years.
Her journey as a flight attendant all started at Jan Smuts Airport (now Tambo International Airport) when she would see her father fly.
When she saw the glamorous air hostesses, she knew exactly what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.

After matriculating from high school, she decided to become a flight attendant and wasted no time in taking to the skies.
She plans to beat the current record-holder to become the longest-serving flight attendant in the world.
Fernandes can't believe that she has been in the air for 50 years. "It was incredible - one adventure after another," she said.
In the beginning, she only flew international flights, however, after her sister passed away she could not continue flying internationally. She also had three young children and could only fly domestically.
Her last flight is on the 17th of July 2019.
