This man will launch a homemade rocket to prove the earth is flat
Updated | By Nkhensani Manabe
Mad Mike Hughes has built a rocket that he intends to launch into space to prove his theory.
A man from California has built a rocket out of scrap metal, and plans to use it to launch himself 1,800 feet into the air.
Mad Mike Hughes believes that this will prove once and for all that the earth is flat.
Mad Mike, who makes his living as a limo driver, says he doesn't believe in science, and that aerodynamics is "just a formula".
The launch of the rocket was set for 25 November, but has since been delayed after Mad Mike did not get the proper clearance from the Bureau of Land Management.

As is expected, when the question of the earth's shape is raised, there have been many skeptics who have voiced their opinions on Mad Mike's plans:
Is it just me, or does it seem like a significant portion of the Earth's population is #regressing rather than #progressing? Saturday, #madmikeHughes intends to launch a rocket, he made from scratch, into atmosphere in attempt to prove the Earth is #flat : https://t.co/IX7dGFQ0qu

Welp. There’s still a good chance @realDonaldTrump will tap him to head @NASA.

Look at what #MadMikeHughes is doing though! He's risking a good chance of death to get a photo from 1,800 feet, but what's that going to show? Here's a photo from 36,000 feet and the earth still looks "flat" in it. You can't expect the application of logic from illogical people. pic.twitter.com/G2woqzho01
