Make My Monday: New books and extra money for matric learner
Updated | By Scenic Drive With Rian
The Scenic Drive made JJ's Monday extra special with new school books and extra money for the new academic year.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world hard. School learners had to stay home for months, were forced to homeschool, and matric farewells were cancelled.
Many parents also lost their jobs - and this caused more stress for leaners.
Last week, Deputy Minister of Basic Education Reginah Mhaule confirmed during a press briefing that scholars will be allowed on the school grounds for the first time this year on the 15th of February.
The government took the decision amid fears of rising COVID-19 cases during the second wave.
JJ's father business did not survive the lockdown - and the Scenic Drive decided to help to make his academic year more bearable.
OUTsurance will sponsor R5000. The Scenic Drive team will help with the books JJ needs, as well as an extra R2,500 in cash.
