LOOK: 78-year-old man finally graduates from high school 60 years later
Updated | By Scenic Drive with Rian
Ted, 78, feared he'd never collect his diploma after missing his 1962 graduation due to some adolescent shenanigans - and owing the school $4.80 for an overdue library book.
Ted recently enrolled in the San Gabriel California High School class of 2022 and graduated, much to his family's happiness.

"I never expected to be here 60 years later," he remarked, "and I never expected to cross that stage when I walked away with my graduation in 1962."
"I lamented to my kids a number of times over the years about how $4,80 delayed me from getting my diploma," he adds.
After telling his children how much he regrets not graduating and how much he wishes he could, his daughter, Sherry, decided to surprise him by asking San Gabriel High School in Los Angeles to reprint his diploma so he could attend his graduation.
